Change your password in Accounts Center

Step 1: Open Settings
In the Facebook app, tap your profile picture or the menu (☰), then Settings & privacy > Settings. On a computer, click your profile picture and choose the same options.

Step 2: Open Accounts Center
Tap Accounts Center, then Password and security.

Step 3: Choose Change password
Tap Change password and select your Facebook account.

Step 4: Enter your passwords
Type your current password, then your new password twice. Use at least 12 characters you don’t use anywhere else.

Step 5: Save
Tap Change password. You can choose to log out of other devices at the same time.
Frequently asked questions
What if I forgot my current password?
Log out and tap Forgot password? on the login screen to reset it with a code sent to your email or phone.
Will I be logged out of Messenger?
Only if you choose to log out of other devices. Otherwise you stay logged in.
