Before you start
- Administrator access
- Revo Uninstaller Free
Method 1 Try the standard way first
Also look for an official removal tool: many antivirus programs (Norton, McAfee, Avast) offer their own “removal tool” that works when the normal uninstaller fails.
-
Step 1: Open Installed apps
Go to Settings > Apps > Installed apps (Windows 10: Apps & features).
-
Step 2: Uninstall
Click ⋯ next to the program and choose Uninstall. Restart afterwards.
Method 2 Uninstall with Revo Uninstaller
-
Step 1: Install Revo
Download Revo Uninstaller Free from revouninstaller.com and install it. A portable version is also available.
-
Step 2: Pick the program
Open Revo, select the program in the list and click Uninstall.
-
Step 3: Create a restore point
Leave Make a System Restore Point before uninstall ticked and click Continue.
-
Step 4: Run the built-in uninstaller
The program’s own uninstaller opens. Follow it to the end. If it fails or is missing, just close it and continue in Revo.
-
Step 5: Scan for leftovers
Choose Moderate scan mode and click Scan.
-
Step 6: Delete leftovers
Revo shows leftover registry entries and then files/folders. Click Select all for the bold items only and click Delete. Then Finish and restart.
Method 3 Program not in the list? Use Hunter Mode
-
Step 1: Start Hunter Mode
In Revo, click Hunter Mode. A target icon appears on your screen.
-
Step 2: Drag the target
Drag it onto the program’s window or desktop icon and choose Uninstall.
Troubleshooting
“The program is in use” or can’t be removed
Close it in Task Manager (including tray icons), restart in Safe Mode, and run Revo again.
Something else stopped working
Use System Restore to go back to the restore point Revo created: search Create a restore point > System Restore.
