Change your username in the Instagram app

Step 1: Open your profile
Tap your profile picture at the bottom right.

Step 2: Tap Edit profile
Tap Edit profile under your bio.

Step 3: Enter a new username
Tap Username and type the new one. Instagram tells you straight away if it’s already taken.

Step 4: Save it
Tap Done (iPhone) or the check mark (Android).

Yes. Once you change it, your old username may become available to other people.
