How to Stop Hitting the Snooze Button

image

Tips

  • Try to invest in an alarm clock that isn't a blasting loud noise. This is more stressful than a less intense noise.
  • Try to get at least 7-9 hours of sleep. This gives you plenty of time to rest.
  • Put your alarm clock on the other side of the room. Most of the time that we hit the snooze button we don't even realize that we're doing it because it's within arms length of your bed. By putting it on the floor or a table on the other side of the room, you'll have to physically get out of bed and go turn it off. This will aid in waking you up.

Warnings

  • Insomnia is a symptom of a problem, and not the problem itself. Good sleep is a sign of health. Poor sleep is often a sign of some malfunctioning and may signal either minor or serious medical or psychiatric disorders. Insomnia can begin at any age, and can last for a few days (transient insomnia), a few weeks (short-term insomnia), or indefinitely (long-term insomnia).
  • If you use a candle when you get up during the night, take special care to extinguish it before you go back to sleep. Fire department sirens are really not the best way to wake up.

Things You'll Need

  • Alarm clock.
