1. Find a quality place to get it done. Even your earlobes need proper piercing procedure. Look around online for a certified parlor. Talk to the artist and look through their portfolio.
2. Purchase sea salt without iodine for making a soaking solution.
3. Weigh it out. Newly pierced ears take more time and care than you would think. It may take up to a year to heal completely.
4. Be prepared to spend some money. You are paying a piercer for their expertise, so the cheap piercer usually isn't the best choice.
5. Eat beforehand, and wash your ears. Try not to touch them before the piercing.
6. Talk to the artist to help you relax. Ask to lay down during the procedure if you think you may feel faint.
7. Breathe in, then exhale as the needle goes in. Pain is relative, but most people can easily handle it.Also,you could just think,while it is getting done,of how pretty they will look.Cry.It will probably not help the pain,but it will probably help you relax because you are letting your emotions out.

• Buy a Coke or Pepsi. Take a few gulps before the person pierces your ear. Then take another after she/he finishes. This will help your blood sugar. Make sure you eat something filling before you get it done.
• Grit your teeth. Somehow it helps.
• While your ears are healing, don't rotate your jewelry.
• Never touch your healing piercing with dirty hands, this is how most infections start.
• Getting your ears peirced does not hurt that bad.

• Your ears can get infected, so take care of them!
• Mall shops will pierce infants (which is irresponsible) while many professionals require you be at least 16. Some, however, will pierce lobes of anyone old enough to say they want them and seem responsible enough to take care of them, perhaps as young as 7 (with parental permission).
