How to Do Twisties on Any Kind of Hair

image

Tips

  • The size of your twist creates different results. Smaller twists produce tighter waves and last longer, while larger twists produce loose wavy hair.
  • Practice on a doll's hair to get it right before doing your own hair.
  • You will sometimes see hair decorations known as Twisties. These are pieces of jewelry you can twist into your hair, but otherwise have little to do with the hairstyle of the same name.
  • If you have frizzy hair apply some baby oil to your hair after the first wash.
  • If you have long and thick hair this can take a long time; divide your hair into four pony tails and work with them one at a time.

Warnings

  • Make sure your hair doesn't split.
  • Make sure you twist in the same direction for each twist.
  • To avoid puffy hair make your twisties straight down th side of your head, and start as close to your scalp as possible.
  • It is possible that your haircut could be prohibited at your school. See the link below for a recent case.
