How to Comb Long Hair

image

Combing long hair is no easy feat, but it can be overcome and save you from resorting to drastic measures!

Steps

  1. You will need a wide-toothed comb and a handful of hair grips to hold hair sections up. Make sure your hair is dry before combing.
  2. Using the end of the comb, part the hair vertically down the middle and starting with one side, section the hair into half or third and clip ontop of the head to keep it out of the way.
  3. Start at the back with the underneath hair and work up the layers to the top.
  4. Using the wide-toothed comb, start combing the end of the hair and work your way in slowly until you have combed the entire shaft of hair.
  5. Move on to the next layer until all layers are complete.

Tips

  • Best to comb long hair after you have washed and used a detangling conditioner. Even better to comb the conditioner through the hair before rinsing. This will make it easier to comb when drying.

Warnings

  • If you brush or comb hair from the scalp, it would cause knots and tangling. If you comb from the ends first, this will reduce the likelihood of this happening
