How to Turn an Old Pair of Jeans Into a Cute Pair of Capris

image

Do you have some old jeans that are a little too short? Turn them into a pair of stylish capris.

Steps

  1. Put on the jeans and make a mark above or below the knee.
  2. Remove the jeans and cut on your mark, about 3-5 inches off the bottom of your old jeans.
  3. Wash and dry your jeans, this will cause them to unravel at the seams.
  4. Trim the loose thread at the bottom of the newly cut jeans. You may want to leave some short threads for style.
  5. For a cool touch of your personal style, embroider or iron-on your first initial, a lucky number or a happy face applique to one of the back pockets of your jeans.

Tips

  • If you use iron-ons you will need an iron.
  • Don't decorate both of your back pockets.
  • Be sure you cut both of the legs of the jeans the same length.

Things You'll Need

  • Jeans
  • Ruler
  • Chalk
  • Scissors
  • Embroidery stuff: needle, thread, etc.
  • Washer and dryer
  • Iron, optional
  • Appliques, optional
