How to Make the Crepe Paper Flowerlets to Cover a Pinata

image

Creating crepe paper flowerlets for a piñata is smashing fun and super easy!

Steps

  1. Cut (or tear) 2" x 2" (approximate size) pieces of crepe paper.
  2. Place the eraser end of a pencil in the center of the piece of paper and twist the paper around the eraser.
  3. While holding the twisted piece of paper onto the eraser end of the pencil, dip it into a very thin layer of basic craft glue. Remember, just a small dab will do.
  4. Using the pencil, place the twisted, glued piece of crepe paper in the desired spot on your piñata.
  5. Once your piñata is completely covered, let it dry overnight.

Tips

  • For smaller flowerets, the same steps can be applied using something smaller to a pencil (for example, the flat end of a bamboo chopstick).

Warnings

  • Have a box of tissues close at hand for the moment when you see your labor of love being smashed to bits for the sake of another's enjoyment!
